“Go to the Adelaide Central Market. Order a coffee and sit by the window at Lucia’s. Put your headphones on and travel through time, memory, place and dream.”
Jamie Lewis is an artist, performance-maker and writer who creates artworks that centre around stories, conversations and food. Jamie has been commissioned by ACE Open to create a new work for the exhibition, Plenty, which examines our collective relationship to food.
Jamie spent a few weeks hanging out in the Adelaide Central Market, speaking to stallholders and customers about their changing relationships with food and this place. Locating their conversations across time and memory, together they share their aspirations for this beloved market and the city beyond.
She invites you to experience this new sound work.
Audio experience is free. The coffee from Lucia’s is worth every dollar.
